Gabrielle Union and her cute daughter Kaavia are one of the mother-daughter duos on the internet that will keep you saying “awwwww!” when you view their posts. Kaavia is quite a sensation herself with her cute facial expressions people have come to love. She is the only child Union has with her husband Dwyane Wade, although Wade has three other children from two different women.

Gabrielle Monique Union was born on 29 October 1972 in Omaha, Nebraska. Her parents divorced after 30 years of marriage, but they ensured it didn’t affect her and her siblings. While growing up, she battled self-esteem issues and was considered mean by many until her trainer A.J Johnson confronted her. At the age of 19, while working a part-time job at a payless shoe store, she was attacked and raped by a robber who came to the store.
Gabrielle began her career in the 1990s but didn’t hit her big break until the year 2000 when she played a role in the teen film Bring it on. After that, she has appeared in other films like The Brother’ (2001), Deliver Us from Eva (2003), Daddy’s Little Girls (2007), Think Like a Man (2012), Think Like a Man Too (2014), and many other movies. She has also written four books — two memoirs and two children’s books.
Union was married to NFL player Chris Howard in 2001, but they got divorced in 2005. She started dating NBA player Dwyane Wade in 2008, and they got married in 2014. Gabrielle became stepmother to Wade’s children while trying to conceive. Gabrielle was later diagnosed with adenomyosis – a type of endometriosis that often causes infertility in women. She tried IVF and all sorts of fertility medications, but it proved futile, and she kept suffering miscarriages.
In her new book, You got anything Stronger? she opened up about her struggle with having a child and why she decided to have Kaavia via surrogacy.
She also mentioned feeling inadequate knowing that her husband could easily impregnate any woman (which he did); “The experience of Dwyane having a baby so easily while I was unable to lift my soul not just broken into pieces, but shattered into fine dust scattering in the wind,” she writes. “With desperate hands, we gathered what we could to slowly remake me into something new.”

While vacationing in Italy, the duo shared a hotshot with Gabrielle showing off her bikini body in a bikini set from Sai Sankoh resort wear while baby Kaavia rocked an identical Ankara dress for babies with a matching print head-wrap.
